Olomouc and Brno invite you on a delightful two-day break, combining historic sights with leisurely strolls and time to enjoy the festive atmosphere.
In Olomouc, picturesque squares, impressive churches, and Moravia’s rich heritage await, while Brno offers a lively atmosphere and a fascinating blend of old and new. Take time to sample local specialities, find a small gift for your loved ones, and warm up with a hot drink. Day 1: Slovenia – Olomouc
Baroque treasures, picturesque squares, and festive treats
We will depart in the morning by comfortable touring coach, travelling through Austria and onwards into Czechia to Olomouc, once an important centre of Moravia.
We will stroll through the city and admire its cultural and historical treasures. Our walk will begin in the Upper Square, home to the Renaissance Town Hall, historic fountains, and the magnificent Baroque Holy Trinity Column, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
We will continue to the impressive Gothic Church of St Maurice and the Church of St Michael, distinguished by its characteristic Baroque domes. Passing along streets lined with Baroque palaces, we will reach St Wenceslas Cathedral with its imposing tower. The cathedral took on its present appearance in the 19th century.
The afternoon will be spent exploring the festively decorated streets, where we will have the opportunity to sample local specialities at the market stalls.
At the agreed time, we will travel to the hotel for check-in and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Brno – Slovenia
A historic city centre and lively Christmas markets
Our second day will be devoted to vibrant Brno. After breakfast, we will continue to the city centre, where modern architecture blends with an impressive historic core. Here, we will admire the cathedral, Capuchin monastery, and Town Hall.
There will then be time in the city centre, where several Christmas markets take place during the festive season. At the stalls, we can sample grilled sausages, Christmas biscuits, and other treats while soaking up the delightful Advent atmosphere.
At the agreed time, we will begin our return journey through Austria to Slovenia. Arrival home is expected in the evening.
