December Romance in Veneto with Padua and Treviso
Treat yourself to two days of December romance in Italy’s Veneto region, where festive lights illuminate historic squares, narrow streets invite leisurely strolls, and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee drifts from cafés. Padua and Treviso will charm you with their historic landmarks, festive stalls, and delightful Italian atmosphere.
In Padua, we will soak up the lively Advent spirit, while in Treviso we will discover picturesque canals, elegant façades, and charming corners worth pausing to admire. There will be time to explore, browse for small festive gifts, and perhaps enjoy a slice of authentic tiramisu. Invite your partner, friends, or family and treat yourselves to a short break filled with beautiful sights, delicious flavours, and shared moments.
Day 1: Slovenia – Padua
Festive squares, a famous basilica, and the spirit of Advent
We will depart in the morning and travel towards Italy, passing Venice on our way to Padua. The city is renowned for its university, exceptional botanical garden, and magnificent Basilica of St Anthony of Padua.
During the festive season, its streets and squares take on a special charm, attracting visitors from near and far. Lively Advent celebrations, a tempting selection of local products, and enchanting decorations will accompany our walk through Padua.
There will then be free time to explore independently, stroll through the narrow streets, and browse the festive stalls with their varied offerings.
In the evening, we will travel to our accommodation. Hotel check-in and overnight stay.
Day 2: Treviso – Slovenia
Romantic canals, historic palaces, and a sweet temptation
After breakfast, we will continue to central Treviso. Often overshadowed by nearby Venice, the city’s historic centre has a charm all of its own. Picturesque canals, frescoed façades, elegant colonnades, and traces of its medieval past create an enchanting setting.
We will stroll through the city centre and discover its landmarks, admiring the historic town palaces along the way.
Free time will allow us to explore independently, wander through narrow streets beside the canals, and browse festive stalls offering a variety of products. Perhaps we will also indulge in authentic tiramisu, a dessert inseparably linked with Treviso.
In the afternoon, we will begin our return journey home, with arrival expected in the evening.
