An Advent Fairytale through Bratislava to Nitra, with Viennese Coffee
When cities sparkle with festive lights, the aroma of seasonal treats fills the streets, and Christmas markets bring town squares to life, it is time for a little escape from everyday life. Join us on a delightful two-day journey combining the charm of Slovakia’s historic towns with the elegance of the Austrian capital.
Enjoy strolls among historic buildings, browse festive stalls, and make time for life’s little pleasures. Perhaps you will find a lovely gift, try something new, or simply warm up with a hot drink while watching the festive bustle. Whether you are travelling as a couple, enjoying time with friends, or treating yourself, the most memorable moments of Advent are those we take the time to enjoy.
Day 1: Slovenia – Bratislava – Nitra
Festive strolls and discovering Slovakia’s historic towns
In the morning, we will depart by comfortable touring coach and travel through Austria to Slovakia. Our first stop will be Bratislava, where we will explore the historic centre beneath its imposing castle. Among elegant palaces and Christmas market stalls, there will be time for a stroll and a taste of local specialities, such as potato pancakes or apple pie.
We will continue to Nitra, one of Slovakia’s oldest towns, whose history is closely linked to Great Moravia. During our visit, we will discover Castle Hill and Nitra Castle, which gives the town its distinctive silhouette.
In the afternoon, we will enjoy Nitra’s festive atmosphere, its decorated square, and some time for refreshments. In the evening, we will transfer to our hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Vienna – Slovenia
The imperial capital and time for Viennese coffee
After breakfast, we will travel to Vienna. A panoramic city tour will take us past the Opera House, theatre, Parliament, and university, introducing us to the grandeur of the former imperial capital.
We will continue exploring the city centre on foot, discovering the Graben, St Stephen’s Cathedral, and the Imperial Crypt of the Habsburgs.
To round off our visit, there will be time for an authentic Viennese coffee and perhaps a delicious pastry. A lovely opportunity to pause, warm up, and reflect on the experiences of our journey.
After sightseeing and refreshments, we will begin our return journey to Slovenia, arriving home in the evening.
