Ptuj in Italian Poetovio is located in the region of Lower Styria in north-east Slovenia and is also one of the oldest towns in Slovenia. It experienced its greatest splendour during the Roman period. Ptuj is a town full of culture. Even from a distance you can see its majestic castle towering over the town below.
The Terme Ptuj spa has a style reminiscent of Roman times. The natural water rises from a depth of 1065 metres to the surface after being filtered through several layers of water-permeable sand. The Ptuj spa complex, one of the largest in Slovenia, is only a 15-minute walk from the city centre.
