O destinaciji

Kranjska Gora je grad u sjeverozapadnoj Sloveniji, na rijeci Sava Dolinka u regiji Gornja Kranjska, blizu austrijske i talijanske granice. Sjedište je Općine Kranjska Gora. Kranjska Gora prvi put se spominje u pisanim izvorima 1326. godine kao Chrainow (a kao Chrainau i Chrainaw 1363., kao Cranaw i Chranaw 1390., i kao Kraynaw 1456.-61., među ostalim imenima). Slovensko ime Kranjska Gora je prerada njemačkog imena, pod utjecajem njemačkog Krainberg 'Karavanke'. Naselje se u prošlosti na slovenskom jeziku također zvalo Borovska vas (ili Borovska ves ili Borovška ves). Vjeruje se da je Kranjska Gora naseljena u 11. stoljeću od strane Slovenaca iz Karantanije. U 12. stoljeću bila je leno grofova Ortenburg. Trgovinska ruta do Tarvisia već je vodila kroz grad u 14. stoljeću. Grofovi Celje sagradili su dvorac u Villa Bassa (sada dio Tarvisia) 1431. godine, koji je pripadao gradu do 1848. Kranjska Gora bila je pod osmanskim napadom 1476. godine. Željeznička veza s Kranjskom Gorom izgrađena je 1870. godine.
