Driver age
The minimum driver age is 19 years.
The following vehicles require a specific minimum age:
• PX**, PS** groups (example: Mercedes-Benz A-Class, Mercedes-Benz GLA or similar): minimum age of 21 years.
For drivers aged between 19 and 24, a "Young Driver" surcharge of €12.00 per day will apply, up to a maximum of €180.00 per rental.
For drivers aged 76 years and over, a "Senior Driver" surcharge of €12.00 per day will apply, up to a maximum of €180.00 per rental.
The age surcharge is not included in the rental price and must be paid in local currency at the rental office.
Driving licence
All drivers must present a valid original driving licence, issued at least 12 months prior to the rental start date and valid beyond the rental period.
If the national driving licence is not written in Latin characters (e.g. Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Cyrillic, etc.) or has been issued in a non-EU country without international agreements with the country where the rental takes place, a valid International Driving Permit (IDP) is required. The driver must present the IDP together with the original national driving licence.
IMPORTANT: It is the renter’s responsibility to ensure that they have the necessary documentation to drive in countries other than their country of residence.
The driving licence must be original, in good condition, legible and valid.
Digital driving licences will NOT be accepted.
ID card/Passport
A valid ID card for all the citizens of the countries of the European Union, will be required.
For all those citizens of a country NOT belonging to the European Union, besides an ID card, a currently valid passport will be required as well.
The documents must be the original ones, not deteriorated, legible and valid.
Digital documents will NOT be accepted.
Inclusive Insurances
[TPL] Third-party liability insurance
This insurance covers the damages to third parties following an accident caused by the driver, excluding the rented car itself.
[CDW] Collision Damage Waiver
This is a reduction of the customer's liability that partially covers the damage caused to the rented vehicle. Instead of the total cost, the driver will be responsible only for the first fraction, called deductible.
The reduction of the customer's liability will be applied up to a maximum chargeable amount specified in the rental agreement.
This reduction does not include damage to: glass, roof, underbody, wheels, interior and damage caused by acts of vandalism.
[TLW] Theft/Fire Protection
This is a reduction of the customer's liability in the event of total/partial theft or fire up to a maximum chargeable amount specified in the rental agreement.
In the event of theft of the rented vehicle, if the vehicle keys are not returned, the customer will be fully liable for reimbursement of the total value of the vehicle.
This reduction does not include the loss of personal assets.
Road Assistance
Road assistance is guaranteed 24/7.
In case road assistance is needed, the cost related to this will be charged to the customer himself.
Taxes Included in the Price
Value Added Tax (VAT).
Airport/Railway Station Taxes.
Fuel and charging policy
[Same to same]
The vehicle is provided with a certain fuel level (full or partial) and must be returned with the same level.
If the vehicle is returned with a lower fuel level, the missing fuel will be charged at the rental company’s applicable rate, which may be higher than local market prices, in addition to a refuelling service fee.
[Electric vehicles]
The rental center will record the vehicle battery charge at the start of the rental.
Failure to return the vehicle in the same state of charge as at pick-up will result in a recharging surcharge per missing kW.
Mileage
The rate includes unlimited mileage.
Territorial restrictions
Taking the vehicle on a ferry is not permitted.
Cross-border travel is permitted subject to payment of the « Cross Border » surcharge, amounting to €85.40 per rental.
The rental vehicle may be driven in the following countries:

If you intend to travel abroad, you must inform the "RentSmart24" desk staff before collecting the vehicle. Otherwise, penalties may apply.
Payment methods
At the time of vehicle pick-up, a credit card in the name of the main driver must be presented for the security deposit and rental payment.
[ATTENTION]
• The main driver must present the card in physical format; digital or virtual versions are not accepted.
[CREDIT cards]
Accepted credit cards at the rental desk: Visa, Mastercard, American Express.
The credit card must be in the name of the main driver, with the first and last name embossed on the front, along with the 16-digit card number. It must be valid for at least 3 months after the end of the rental; a PIN code will be required at pick-up.
The following payment methods are NOT accepted: Diners Club credit cards; Revolving cards; debit cards (e.g. Mastercard Debit, Maestro, Visa Debit, V-Pay); Bancomat cards (e.g. PagoBancomat); prepaid or rechargeable cards, including "Electron" cards (e.g. Viabuy, PayPal, Green Dot, Postepay); cards issued by neobanks or non-bank institutions (e.g. N26, Revolut); cards marked "Electronic use only"; virtual cards or cards stored on mobile devices; Visa Dankort, Discover, JCB, Cirrus and UnionPay; non-personalised cards or cards not in the name of the driver; cash and/or cheques.
For security reasons, all card details must be clearly legible and not damaged, in order to allow verification.
It is the Customer’s responsibility to ensure that sufficient funds are available on the card. The deposit amount is indicated below and may vary depending on the vehicle, the driver’s age, the rental duration and the pick-up location.
If a valid card is not presented or if sufficient funds are not available, the rental provider may refuse to hand over the vehicle; in such cases, no refund will be issued.
Deposit amount
Conditions relating to accepted credit cards, required characteristics and any limitations are specified in the "Payment methods" section.
[DAYTIME hours]
A security deposit will be required when collecting the vehicle.
This amount may only be managed using a credit card in the name of the main driver.
[NIGHT-TIME hours]
If the vehicle is collected between 20:00 and 08:00, completion of the "Web Check-in" procedure will be mandatory.
The customer will be contacted by the staff of the "RentSmart24" rental station, who will send by email the instructions required to complete the "Web Check-in" procedure and pay the security deposit in advance.
The security deposit may only be managed using a credit card in the name of the main driver.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- The security deposit must be paid in advance by 12:00 noon on the day of vehicle collection via the link received by email. Failure to complete this procedure may result in the rental agent refusing delivery of the vehicle; in such cases, no refund will be due.
- For security and customer identification purposes, the credit card used for the online payment, always in the name of the main driver, must match the card physically presented at the rental desk. Authorisations, photocopies or similar documents will not be accepted.
An amount of € 650.00, plus any extras or services purchased and not pre-paid online, will be blocked.
This amount will be released at the end of the rental provided that all rental conditions have been respected.
The excess applicable in the event of damage or theft of the vehicle will be up to € 1600.00 for damage and up to € 2100.00 for theft.
Local Taxes
The damages to the car will be charged by the car rental company at the moment of the drop off, as well as a local tax, which has to be added to the amount of the deductible withheld.
In case of tickets/fines, the driver will have to pay a local tax, which has to be added to the amount of the ticket/fine.
Pick-up
The vehicle must be collected within the time agreed at the time of booking, with a maximum grace period of 60 minutes; after this period, the rental station may no longer guarantee the availability of the vehicle and the booking will be considered cancelled without prior notice.
Please make sure to inform the rental station in the event of a delay.
Drop-off
The rented vehicle must be returned by the date and time specified in the rental agreement. A grace period of 59 minutes beyond the agreed return time is allowed. If this grace period is exceeded, an additional charge will be applied by the car rental company.
No refund is provided in case the car is returned before the date agreed in the car rental contract.
In case the drop-off is made in a different car rental station from the pick up, a "One way" extra charge will be applied. This operation must be authorised beforehand by "RentSmart24".
The vehicles are delivered externally and internally clean and they must be returned in the same condition. Otherwise the costs related to the washing of the vehicle will be proportionally charged.
For rentals with vehicle return outside opening hours, this service is available exclusively at rental locations equipped with a key-box. The customer must inquire at the time of pickup about the service’s usage conditions. The rental agreement will be closed by a company representative upon the reopening of the branch, and the customer remains responsible for the vehicle until it has been officially taken over by the representative.
Vehicle Group
The vehicle in the image and the models on the list are the most commonly used by our car rental partners.
We cannot guarantee that brand and model of the vehicle will be the same of the vehicle viewed on our website.
Voucher
At the arrival at the car rental office, you will be asked to show the voucher.
Attention: TinoRent takes no responsability for any surcharges in the case, at the moment of the pick up, the voucher is not shown to the car rental agent. In these cases no refund of the advance payment will be provided.
Additional Accessories and Extras
Additional accessories and extras must be requested at the time of booking or communicated to the rental centre. These are not included in the rental price and must be paid for at the time of collection.
The prices for these accessories are managed directly by the rental company, which reserves the right to modify them without prior notice.
Additional accessories and any special equipment are subject to availability, which can only be guaranteed by the rental centre at the time of collection.
Night surcharge
For vehicle pick-ups carried out between 23:00 and 07:00, the car rental company "RentSmart24" will apply a night surcharge of € 75.00.
Cancellation Policy
Free cancellation of the booking if it occurs before 14:00 on 23/09/2026. Free cancellation includes the refund of the amount paid during online booking, on the same card used.
An administrative penalty of 80.96 EUR will be applied where the cancellation is carried out after 14:00 of 23/09/2026 and in any case within 14:00 of the 25/09/2026. Any surplus will be refunded directly into the card used during the online booking process.
A penalty called 'Lost Rental Charge' equal to the entire rental cost (107.95 EUR) will be applied where cancellation is made after 14:00 of 25/09/2026 or, in any case, where the vehicle is not picked up at the agreed date and time or where the vehicle was not delivered because the rental conditions stated in the terms and conditions are not met.
