Denia Spain

Denia is a small tourist city located in the southeastern coast in Spain, to the north of Alicante. Dénia is an old town with a long history. Right back to Roman times it was an important centre. As such there's no wonder that there are remains of ancient civilizations everywhere. The town of Denia is large with a real Spanish feel. It’s a working town which is very much more a tourist town. The main street in Denia has shady plane trees, loads of cafes and designer shops. It’s almost like being in a big city. The castle of Denia was one of the main elements defining the historic topography of the town’s urban development. Remains of houses and forts going back to Roman Dianium have been excavated on its slopes. The north beaches are part of Las Marinas, from the port of Denia the first beach is called Punta del Raset beach, seeing as it is near the port it gets many visitors and there's a fantastic children play area with many opportunities for water sports
